Being Rich
Our wealth in life could be mistaken
For amounts of notes, coins, silver or gold
Misled, we may believe we are rich,
But it’s time the truth be told.
Working harder won’t lead to wealth,
Nor choosing work over family and friends.
This is a lesson we must embrace
Before our fleeting lifetime ends.
We are only ever truly rich
When we hold what cannot be bought.
Our greatest wealth lives in the people we love,
Not possessions endlessly sought.
Say yes to more days out and adventures,
Make time to laugh, to play, to live.
Spend your hours with those you cherish—
Time is the greatest gift you can give.
